World Championship Egg & Spoon Race

Grab your spoons, the world’s first ever ‘World Championship Egg & Spoon Race’ is coming to Abingdon on the 15th April! Taking place in the lovely setting of Abbey Gardens this event is set to be an egg-cellent event! Inspired by Paul Gustafson, the award winning local author of the children’s ‘Eggbert’s Adventure’ Books, a day has been created for the whole family to enjoy.  

Egg and spoon races for all age ranges with medals for the winners, and of course chocolate prizes! 

Race Categories

4yrs – 6yrs ( Small Folk )
7yrs – 9yrs ( Small Folk )
10yrs -12yrs ( Small Folk )
Teenagers race
Superstar ( Small & Big Folk with additional needs )
Adult ( Big Folk )
Big Folk over 65

Complete our online registration form, or simply turn up on the day, but don’t be late, join us at 10:30am as the races start promptly at 11am! 

Great fun for the entire family! Inflatables, creative activities, including an Easter art workshop, colouring and puzzle activities, face painting, donkeys, Easter chicks and of course engaging readings from Paul himself and much more! Gather all your family and friends to join in the fun with this action packed day, perfect for all ages!

Don’t forget your spoons for your chance of becoming the Egg & Spoon race champion - Join us in bringing back the good old tradition of the fun egg & spoon race, go on, have a go!

A range of liquid and food refreshments for children and adults will be on offer.

Don’t forget the lovely town of Abingdon is only a short wander away so why not come and soak up the sun and revel in the local history, grab a coffee and enjoy some retail therapy…
